OT - mom/medical question
Did you change detergents, did he get in to anything? Sounds like a contact rash most likely. If there's no fever, putting a cream on it is the best rather then giving benydril if he's not wheezing. That way he won't get sleepy from the meds and can still function. You shouldn't need to see the doctor unless it gets worse. That's what google says. Britt used to get contact rash all the time from laundry detergents. I had to be careful what kind I bought.
My guess would be his body heat mixed with a reaction to the pj's he was wearing- could be the type of fabric or detergent.
If the rash doesn't go away though I would probably take him in to get checked out. Rashes on the trunk of your body can be a symptom of other things such as Scarlett Fever (a cousin to strep thoat) and other various discomforts. No need to call the calvary though if it goes away and there are no other symptoms.
Hope he gets better quick!
If its a contact reaction then washing the affected area and applying cool compresses may help as well.
Love you!!
Hope your day gets better!!!!

Did he complain about it, did it itch, or did you just see it and freak? If it went away on it's own it was probably a heat rash(if he's like Brett he gets way warm in his sleep). If it itched it could be contact rash.
I'm glad for the heads up on the strep thing because Emily usually has the sore throat and fever for that before throwing up everywhere constantly until antibiotics are onboard, but Brett has had a rash before that was unexplained with a slightly sore throat and NO white spots or VERY FEW and that was probably strep.
I hope "Brett's friend" is feeling better already. (When Brett sees your avitar on here or FB he says "Mom, is that MY friend's Mom?"
